NOT WORTH THE PRICE OR THE TROUBLE Oct 02, 2007
By Toni Smith

I purchased the product based on the 2 other positive reviews on Amazon. I must have gotten the one in the lot that does not work. The hose advertised with it, and purchased, did not fit. I used my own hoses. I purchased a brand new hose. It leaks, period. We spent hours adjusting it. It is made of cheap plastic. I have no problem with the Dish being made of plastic, but the housing where the hose is supposed to fit, does not have a tight fit when the hose is put on, so it leaks at the joint. I just purchased another product today, and am just taking the money loss, because it is not worth it to be aggravated further, by returning the product, so I am out $28 plus. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT. IT IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY OR THE TIME!

Very short lived product Jul 30, 2009

After just under 1 year, this thing is completely useless. Two major problems: 1)overflow has not worked properly for last 4 months. It uses a simple float mechanism (like a toilet) to stop, which does not properly shut off. We were able to fix it for a few months, but it overflows badly now. 2) The other problem is that if you have large dogs with large paws, you will probably want to mount this since 1) it's plastic, thus edible, and 2) they swim in their dishes. The problem is the mount holes are also plastic and the bowl is now tearing away from the weight of the water.
Minor problems: 1) Fittings are plastic - so it leaks - copious amounts of patience and plumber's tape will do the trick 2) No drain hole 3) Some of inner fittings have corroded (clearly a local problem)
Pros: 1) Price 2) Color 3) It didn't crack or discolor from the sun
Bottom line: I cannot recommend it.

Junk Dec 13, 2007
By M. SHANNON This was a waste of money. It to a while to get it dialed in (just like Toni's review said above). It worked for a few weeks and then got so scummy. It was impossible to clean properly. The scum was growing from the inside (the part you can't get to) and just seemed unsanitary for the dogs.

Never empty! Great invention! Jul 24, 2007

I really like this product. I've been using the bowl for about a week and it really is cool. I have a Boxer and a mutt that share this bowl & even though it seems a bit small, it is never empty because it automatically refills. It has a float mechanism built-in like a swamp cooler, so it always stays at the right level & since it's connected by hose, the water is always fresh and cold. AWESOME!

Great Watering Bowl - Remember to get hose and/or connector! Jul 19, 2008
By J. Kwok This is a great product for a reasonable price. Important NOTE: Although it will connect to a garden hose, it might not connect to a "standard" garden hose because of the type of thread (female or male). This product works great with a TastePURE 22743 10' Reinforced RV Fresh Water Hose.
I also got Gilmour Brass 2-Way Connector, #13 so I can connect my "standard" garden hose to the facet as well.
